Velas Resorts
You’ll want to whisper in your clients’ ears about Velas Resorts’ latest indulgent offerings. The Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit pampers the littlest member on your client list with a new baby spa treatment—a complement to the resort’s Baby Concierge and Baby’s First Haircut Service. The 25-minute Sunrise Massage, priced at $65, stimulates the baby’s senses and central nervous system, plus promotes sensory and cognitive development. This treatment geared for little ones ages 1-3, encourages them to differentiate textures and sounds to the tunes of Mozart.

“The majority of clients booking this service,” says Juan Vela, v.p. of Velas Resorts, “are first-time parents wishing to create a fun bonding vacation with their newborn.”

Grand Velas Riviera Maya ups the luxury ante with a newly added champagne and caviar bar for guests staying at one of its six Presidential Suites—each a minimum of 2,400 sq. ft., and that does NOT include its spacious private terrace. Guests in these suites also receive a 50-minute massage pp per day in the suite’s private massage area, and have a private full-service staff, including a housekeeper and pool butler, to attend to all of their needs. Rates for the Presidential Suite range from $3,200 for a 1-room Zen Grand Presidential Suite in low season to $6,200for the Grand Class Presidential Suite in high season.

Make a note agents, because coming soon to the Velas Resorts family is the Grand Velas Los Cabos, set to open in 2017. Visit recommend.com for updates on this property.

Mandarin Oriental
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group properties around the globe are celebrating the Chinese New Year, Feb. 7, with the Year of the Fire Monkey Spa Experience, on offer year-round. This experience incorporates traditional Chinese elements to stimulate the senses, relax the mind, and rejuvenate the body. The 1-hour-and-50-minute experience begins with a relaxing foot ritual, followed by a full body exfoliation, a warm shower with pomelo water—traditionally used to wash away negative feelings—followed by a short, guided singing bowl session for deep relaxation, topped off with a body massage. This experience is available at all Mandarin Oriental spas until the end of the Fire Monkey year on Jan. 17, 2017.

The hotel group has also announced that it will manage a new luxury hotel and residences in Boca Raton. The property, which is currently under development, is expected to open in late 2017. The new property will be made up of two adjacent towers located in downtown Boca Raton, just a short walk from the beach. The buildings will be part of an upscale mixed-use development that will include 65,000 sq. ft. of luxury retail, plus a private club offering social, fitness, and championship
golf amenities.

The Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton will feature 158 guestrooms and suites, all with ocean or city views. The new property will have the brand’s signature rooftop restaurant with an outdoor terrace and bar with ocean, golf and city views. There’ll also be a chic lobby lounge, a Mandarin Oriental cake shop, and a spacious club lounge, plus banquet and meeting spaces. The hotel will be home to a Spa at the Mandarin facility with a fitness center and rooftop pool.
