The 11-day Community, Culture & Cuisine: Cuba tour starts with an overnight stay at The Biltmore Hotel in Miami’s Coral Gables neighborhood before departing to Cienfuegos and Trinidad. Guests will take a guided walk through the 500-year-old town of Trinidad; dine on local cuisine at a paladar, or family-run restaurant; visit a ceramic studio and meet a local potter; experience an Afro-Cuban dance; and meet a local babalao, a high priest who practices Santeria.
Guests will then head north to Santa Clara and Cayo Santa Maria; visit the seaside town of Caibarien; board a private steam train in Remedios and head to the Museo Azucarero Marcelo Salado to learn about Cuba’s sugar industry; explore Caleton and Cienaga de Zapata National Park; and finally arrive in Havana to learn about the politics, history and cuisine.
