It’s a marriage made in heaven, truly, when your clients can walk down the aisle with the experts at AMResorts, Palace & Hard Rock, Paradisus and Sandals—enduring powerhouses in the destination weddings scene.
Couples can expect everything from ready-to-order wedding packages that make planning for the big day as easy as 1-2-3, to customized nuptials where money is no object. And with a bevy of all-inclusive options thrown in, the bride and groom—and their guests, of course—will feel like they’re catered to from the moment they step onto the property as an engaged couple, to the moment they head back to their daily lives as newlyweds.
And because the resorts themselves are facilitating all of the wedding basics (although your involvement is vital and there’s an average 10 percent commission for you on the wedding packages themselves), it’s your time to also shine as a top travel agent by creating an all-out vacation experience for the wedding guests and gaining new clients in the process—it goes without saying most guests will want to make a long weekend, at least, of their travels to the wedding destination. But first you need to be on top of all the destination wedding options available. Here’s some ammunition.
Sandals Resorts has some big news to share—its in the midst of launching its new Your Wedding. Your Style. destination wedding concept (if you’re in NYC on June 14, incidentally, take a detour to Grand Central Terminal as they’ll be hosting a free event to introduce it to the general public). This is, the hotel company says, the chance for brides to “plan a custom destination wedding experience that’s distinctly, uniquely theirs.” Couples will have the opportunity to personally style and execute their dream wedding at any one of Sandals’ 14 Caribbean resorts—in Saint Lucia, Bahamas, Jamaica and Antigua—although Preston Bailey or Martha Stewart will no longer be around to help. This is all about customization, the company says, with cookie-cutter weddings being thrown out the window. Now available are an expanded color palette, wedding accessories and bespoke experiences, and once couples have selected their favorite palette, they can browse the almost 1,000 wedding ideas for flowers, decor, wedding cakes, entertainment and more. Traditional or tropical? Modern or romantic? Every design style has been included, so couples are most definitely going to find what they’re looking for down to the last detail, the company emphasizes.
It’s the Sandals Destination Wedding Designer tool—you can find it at sandals.com/weddingmoons—that works the magic, allowing your clients to create an unlimited number of custom weddings to help decide the one that suits them best. It makes your life a whole lot easier, too, with plenty of time for you to iron out all the details to make sure the wedding party is well attended to during their stay. And couples staying six nights or longer can choose from a complimentary Beautiful Beginnings Wedding or a $500 credit that can be applied to design a customized destination wedding or personalize a pre-designed theme (must include the purchase of a wedding cake).
Once all the details for the big day have been taken care of, tell your clients all about the fabulous options Sandals has in store for them if they decide to honeymoon at the same Sandals resort where they tie the knot. In fact, Sandals’ WeddingMoons concept includes all the amenities necessary for making a “wedding” and a “moon” at the same resort infinitely appealing. There’s a personal consultant and dedicated on-resort wedding team, elegant receptions, as well as the must-haves such as preparation of marriage documents, certified marriage certificate and marriage officiant. For the honeymoon, special amenities include sparkling wine upon arrival, special turndown and breakfast in bed.
To add to the festivities, Sandals also has a wedding and honeymoon gift registry that lets the bride and groom add wedding details and honeymoon amenities such as candlelit dinners, couple’s massages and sunset cruises. This year the company also linked its philanthropic
arm, the Sandals Foundation, to the registry, allowing couples to help less fortunate residents of the Caribbean through a donation to the foundation.
