The new luxury Loisaba Tented Camp opened earlier this year on a 600-ft. escarpment in Kenya’s Loisaba Conservancy. The property, which is part of the luxury camp and safari lodge operator Elewana Collection, features six stylish en-suite tents—three Doubles and three Convertible Twin/Double tents—and three Family Combinations, each comprised of a Double Tent and a Convertible Tent/Double Tent adjoined by a walkway. Each room category features an inside lounge area and a verandah sitting area. However, only one of the Family Combinations and one Convertible tent features its own private bar, dining area, and exclusive access to a second private infinity pool.

At the onsite restaurant and bar, guests can absorb the vast landscape of the 56,000-acre sanctuary while dining on an a la carte menu of dishes created with ingredients the chef sources from a 31-mile radius. Typical dishes might include a duo of carrot and beetroot soup with basil oil and sour cream, or pea and lemon risotto with grilled baby leeks and poached egg.

In addition to game viewing— Loisaba Conservancy is home to more than 700 resident and non-resident elephants—the Loisaba Tented Camp hosts various outdoor activities including bush walks, mountain biking, camel riding, lion tracking, horseback riding (for experienced riders), fishing, local village excursions and the opportunity to spend a morning with the resident sniffer dogs. Rates start at $490 pp per night sharing a Twin/Double tent, including full board, soft drinks, beer, house wines and selected spirits, plus safari activities including day and night game drives, guided bush walks and fishing (seasonal), and mountain biking, as well as airstrip transfers, and laundry.
