The Peninsula Hong Kong is launching year-long celebrations starting this month to commemorate its 85th anniversary.
The offerings pay tribute to the 1920s glamour of the hotel with an 8-course Diamond Jubilee dinner at Gaddi’s; a revival of the Afternoon Tea Dance in the lobby with a 10-piece band and afternoon tea; a 3-hour Glamour Time spa experience, which includes body exfoliation and an aromatherapy body massage; and art performances every fourth Sunday of the month. In addition, the hotel is unveiling its new guestrooms in the Original Building in May, following a $50 million room enhancement.
From now through Dec. 27, the hotel is offering the Family Moments program, which features 50 percent off an adjoining room for children under 12, and a complimentary lunch and dinner from the kids’ menu or buffet. Rates start at $796 for a Grand Deluxe Kowloon View Room and include complimentary kids’ meals per day per child; daily American breakfast for two adults; complimentary local and long-distance calls; and complimentary HD movies and wireless Internet.
