The Guadeloupe Islands are becoming more accessible to U.S. travelers with new airline routes from American Airlines and Seaborne Airlines.

In April, American Airlines began its weekly nonstop flights from Miami, and starting this month Seaborne Airlines will offer four nonstop flights a week from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Pointe-a-Pitre, the capital of the islands, with interline connections via American Airlines around the U.S.

“We are very excited about Seaborne Airlines taking over American Eagle’s route from San Juan to Pointe-a-Pitre,” says Hilaire Brudey, president of the Guadeloupe Tourism Authority. “This new route will work perfectly as a complement to the new American Airlines weekly direct flight from Miami and bring the flexibility that travelers needed.”

American Airlines offers its nonstop flight from Miami to Pointe-a-Pitre Saturday late mornings, and from Pointe-a-Pitre to Miami on Saturday afternoons. Seaborne’s route from San Juan to Pointe-a-Pitre will operate Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday early evenings and will offer return flights on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings.
