The Ritz-Carlton’s other standout luxury amenity is its Silver Rain Spa. From the moment you open the door to this sanctuary, you know that this is anything but your average spa in the Caribbean. A cavernous corridor with water trickling down its sides guides you into the spacious spa lobby, where clients are introduced to the spa’s opulent color scheme: rich cremes and purplish grays. Inside the locker rooms, which sport vinyl benches and cozy carpeting, spa attendees welcome you to “The Sanctuary,” or the spa’s first floor where clients can prepare for their treatments in the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi. Guests can take advantage of showers with attached private changing areas and large vanity spaces for post-treatment beautifying, with hairbrushes, straightening irons, even a full selection of makeup ensuring clients leave the spa feeling every bit as beautiful as they did when they started.

When clients have finished preparing for their treatment in The Sanctuary, they’re escorted to the spa’s second floor, aka “The Haven,” to await their treatment in another opulent relaxation area. Outfitted with plush chairs and loungers, the relaxation room also offers spa snacks and drinks, including three kinds of water (regular, lemon-infused and mint-infused) as well as a spread of fruit, pastries and cookies. While they enjoy the refreshments, clients can choose from a menu of over 100 choices of music to accompany their treatment—everything from the classical stylings of Yo-Yo Ma, to New Age rainforest sounds, to John Mayer or Joni Mitchell. By the time their therapist guides them into the treatment room, clients are as comfortable and pampered as possible.

Then, of course, comes the treatments themselves, a vast selection of the standard and the unique, all using La Prairie products. Signature treatments include the Silver Rain Body Treatment, combining a coriander, jasmine and vanilla oil scrub with a citrus energizing mask and wrap and Vichy shower; the Silver Rain Facial, using essential oils of bergamot, jasmine and sandalwood; and the Silver Rain Manicure and Pedicure, combining a hot stone hand and foot massage with silver-tipped French polish. Whatever your clients’ spa preference, the Silver Rain Spa is an experience not to be missed.

Rates at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman start at $249 plus $30 per day resort fee and 20 percent service during low season. In high season (through Easter), rates start at $569 with the same additions.
