Costa Diadema guests can now take a discovery tour of Turin, Italy, every Saturday during the 2017 summer season thanks to a new partnership between Costa Cruises and the City of Turin.

Costa Diadema passengers who disembark in Savona during 1-week Mediterranean cruises will have the chance to go on a day trip to Turin and visit one of four tourist attractions: the Egyptian Museum, one of the oldest museums of its type in the world that houses over 5,000 Egyptian artifacts; the National Cinema Museum; the Venaria Reale (Palace of Venaria) or the J-Museum, one of the most high-tech sports museums in the world that is dedicated to the history of Juventus and Italian football. Following the museum outings, participants visit the historic city center, where they will have free time to shop or taste local delicacies at the city’s historic cafes and restaurants, such as the famous bicerin (a traditional hot drink made of espresso, chocolate and milk), at a special price.

In addition, the new tours of Turin give passengers the option of choosing between four distinct experiences. For example, art and architecture lovers will be able to visit the Venaria Reale complex to figuratively journey back in time to the days of Duke Charles Emmanuel II. While cinema fans can opt for an excursion that combines artistic beauty and cinema culture with a visit to the National Cinema Museum.

Costa guests who purchase the excursion to Turin will be given a map produced by Turismo Torino e Provincia showing the locations of the museums, historic cafes and restaurants that are part of the initiative. For more information, visit costacruise.com.
