Le Panache Cruising in Alsace

European Waterways is sailing through Europe commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War I in May 2014, visiting monuments, war cemeteries and battlefields.

The World War One Commemorative Cruise is sailing from May 18 to May 25, 2014 on the 12-passenger Panache. The ship will cruise along the River Lys to Ypres, Belgium, allowing guests to experience the battlefields where German and allied forces fought. Travelers will tour a site from the Battle of the Somme, cruise along the Canal du Nord, and visit other historical sites and monuments, including the Forest of Compiegne, the site of the signing of the Armistice.
