Rail Europe Zooms Ahead

For making the selling of “Europe on Track” interesting, easier and more profitable, Rail Europe, the largest North American distributor of European rail products, has done it again, winning Recommend’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best Rail Vacation Providerand Best Rail Vacation Provider for Travel Agent Support, both of which it has won for three straight years. “We value these honors, for the agent community is front and center to our success,” says Peter Rahaman, Rail Europe’s v.p. of sales. “Our new agent website is the latest example of our commitment to travel agents, for they are priceless partners in determining for customers what works best: say the choice between point-to-point tickets or one of our passes including Eurail passes and exclusive France and Swiss rail passes.” And Rail Europe will be enlarging its marketing arena with the expansion of its online services and products on an all-French website for the Canadian market and all-Spanish for use in North and Latin America.

For the immediate future, Rahaman adds, Rail Europe will be expanding its vacation products with more commissionable add-on attractions to see and do when hopping on and off the trains, or when staying in city centers. On board, the train—passing gorgeous landscapes, and dining with and meeting Europeans, for whom rail is simply the way to go—is part of the journey. Off track, add-ons enrich the whole experience. “Our expanded destination content on our website will complement this enrichment.”
