Still another must-see is the Imperial War Museum North just outside town. The focus here is on people and their stories and how war and conflict has affected them, with a host of exhibits covering Britain’s major wars, with scores of photos and personal letters from military people and their family. Nearby is The Lowry, an arts and entertainment center all under one roof. The Lowry Galleries showcase changing exhibitions by LS Lowry, one of Britain’s most famous painters, as well as a host of other artists form Britain and around the world. The cafes and restaurants with waterside views make it a great place to while away the afternoons.
Anyway you look at it, tell clients they’ll find the North of England a wonderful destination to enjoy both a historical and contemporary view of English culture.
