QueensLander Tours has been providing small-group European and oceanic adventures since 2003. Its focus is on providing personal and comfortable tours and putting guests in touch with the destination itself.

“The number one takeaway for guests on a small group tour is the intimate and more meaningful experience,” says Mark Story, founder and program director at QueensLander Tours. “Our tour captains have relationships with the mom-and-pop restaurants they visit, and if there’s something special that a guest wants to do during their free time, our tour captains will do everything they can to look into it and make it possible.”

Some of the first travel destinations to be visited by QueensLander Tours were Australia and New Zealand, and the 22-day Australia & New Zealand Tour Deluxe still ranks as the longest itinerary available. There, guests will visit the Australian outback, see the sunrise over Ayer’s Rock, tour the wine regions of Melbourne and snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef. Then travelers move on to New Zealand, where they’ll see farmlands, beaches, mountains and parks before their journey comes to a close. Rates start at $6,249 pp dbl.

Meanwhile, according to Story, “Italy’s Great Cities is a new twist on an old classic, and it continues to be our most popular itinerary.” Lasting nine days and traversing Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Cortona and Rome, guests will literally walk in the footsteps of history. “Truthfully, Italy’s Great Cities is my favorite itinerary, too. There’s just something about those cities that makes me want to return again and again.” Deluxe rates start at $3,898 pp dbl and typically include accommodations in five-star hotels, while classic rates start at $2,589 pp dbl.

“We feature hotels that are perfectly located in the heart of each city, so our guests will never have to take a shuttle or taxi to get into the heart of the action,” Story says. “Some guests enjoy deluxe accommodations, and we like be able to provide that. But even our classic properties are usually only about 30 seconds from our deluxe properties.”

Also offered are 4-day pre- and post-tour extensions throughout Europe. Some extensions worth looking into include the Almafi Coast, Sicily, Paris, London and Edinburgh.

“QueensLander Tours is different from other companies, not just because of our more personalized tours, but because we’ll never try to upsell during a vacation. Admission prices are always included, and while we do offer excursions outside of the normal itinerary, we try to take care of those bookings before the trip.”

Also included in rates are all gratuities as well as many meals. And for an extra $390 pp, travelers that opted for classic budget can upgrade to a meal plan that includes five dinners and unlimited wine service at luxury off-the-beaten-path restaurants. Of course, those five dinners are inclusive as part of the deluxe budget.

QueensLander Tours also has exciting news planned for the very immediate future. “Within the next seven to 10 days, we plan on opening a North American tour segment as well,” Story says. So far, itineraries include America’s Great Cities, New York New York, Memphis & Chicago and the Great American West.
