Today, at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in France, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Design Hotels announced the company’s expanded partnership, as well as Design Hotels inception as the 11th Starwood brand. Now, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) members can book a select number of Design Hotels’ member hotels— including the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City; the Ten Bompas in Johannesburg, South Africa; and the Nira Alpina in St. Moritz, Switzerland—through Starwood’s website, mobile app and customer contact centers. By booking directly through Starwood channels, guests earn Starpoints during their stays at participating Design Hotels, in addition to receiving select SPG benefits, including two Starpoints per eligible U.S. dollar spent (three Starpoints for Gold Preferred and Platinum Preferred members), a night and stay credit toward elite status, plus high-speed Internet access and bottled water in-room. Gold Preferred and Platinum Preferred members who book through a Starwood channel will automatically receive a Starpoints bonus as their welcome gift, and as of March 2016, all SPG members will be able to redeem free nights.

Additional Design Hotels that became SPG partner hotels include the C-Hotel in Lake Como, Italy; the Nira Montana in La Thuile, Italy; and the Kruisherenhotel Maastricht in the Netherlands. The ION Luxury Adventure Hotel in Iceland, the Tribe Hotel in Kenya and Grupo Habita’s hotels in Mexico will all join before the end of year, while early 2016 will see the addition of the Town Hall Hotel in London, the Gezi Istanbul in Istanbul, The Waterhouse at South Bund in Shanghai, the New Hotel in Athens, Wanderlust in Singapore, Les Bains in France, and the nest hotel in South Korea.
