Tauck Adds to Fleet in 2014

For 2014, Tauck is launching two new riverboats, upping the number of ships in the fleet to six, and adding four new European itineraries.

The two new ships are being custom-built for Tauck, set to launch next March and June, and will have features and amenities not currently found on the other ships. For example, the new ships will have a smaller capacity than other vessels of the same size. “By limiting passenger capacity we’re able to offer a much higher percentage of suites, and provide the same intimate, club-like atmosphere our river cruise customers have come to enjoy with Tauck,” says CEO Dan Mahar.

The ships will also have a high “guide-to-guest” ratio, with a Tauck cruise director and three professional Tauck directors on each ship. Also, the new itineraries will be fully inclusive with all shore excursions, airport transfers, gratuities, unlimited wine and beer with onboard meals, and more. As with the current itineraries, these new itineraries will provide exclusive “insider” access to cultural experiences that travelers would not be able to arrange on their own.
