The Langham, London

written by | Posted on October 1st, 2009

For more local history with luxury appeal, visit two of London’s most historic department stores. Both Liberty and Selfridge’s are walking distance from The Langham, and both show off their history in dazzling ways. Liberty is the more rustic-looking of the two, housed in a wooden Tudor building and selling everything from designer clothing and accessories to furniture, wedding gowns and reams of specially designed Liberty fabric. The Selfridge’s flagship store has a more modern feel, with escalators guiding shoppers through traditional floors of upscale fashions and home wares, as well as unique elements like an art gallery on its bottom floor and a “Wonder Room” stocked with the store’s most exclusive and pricey goods.

Rates at The Langham, London start at $200 per room per night.
