Hotel groups and upscale properties around the globe are adding new or upgrading their existing wellness programs for the summer, and we’ve “traveled” from Miami to Switzerland to bring you the best of what’s to come.

The Alpina Gstaad
This summer, The Alpina Gstaad—the newest five-star hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland—introduces the Integrated Wellness package at its Six Senses Spa. Located in the exclusive hilltop area of Oberbort in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the luxury resort is offering a 3-night package available from June 3, 2016. Each stay begins with a 60-minute wellness screening by a doctor, as well as a yoga instructor and a fitness trainer who will assess guests’ metabolism, heart function, circulation, stress and other health indicators. Based on the results, a custom program will be designed to suit your client’s individual wellness needs.

Four programs are available: Sleep & Resilience, designed to rejuvenate the body and mind; Trim & Fit, designed to improve stamina and reduce weight; Full Potential, for those in good health who want to move to the next level; and Mountain Detox, for cleansing the body, boosting the immune system and achieving clarity of mind. A 3-night package includes a daily 80-minute spa treatment, a 60-minute fitness activity with a personal trainer, a follow-up consultation, daily breakfast, 100 CHF culinary credit, and accommodations in a Deluxe room. The Integrated Wellness package starts at $3,990 for one guest for a 5-night stay, and $6,695 dbl. Regular room rates start at $553 per night, and include breakfast at the Restaurant Sommet or in-room, parking and use of the Six Senses Spa. For more information, visit thealpinagstaad.ch.

Aman Resorts
Aman Resorts’
new Aman Wellness concept will be introduced across its collection beginning Aug. 1, 2016. The new concept will feature Individual Wellness Immersions launching at its flagship Amanpuri property in Phuket, Thailand and the Amanbagh property in Rajasthan, India, along with a calendar of Group Retreat Experiences held at a range of Aman’s spa destinations.

The Individual Wellness Immersion experience at Amanpuri offers guests four different options: Fitness Immersion is designed by sports therapists and nutrition experts to improve guests’ overall fitness, and can include activities such as Muay Thai boxing and yoga; Weight Loss Immersion aims to remove the emotional barriers to managing weight loss and includes water-based movement sessions; Cleanse Immersion aims to reduce stress levels and promote self healing; and Awareness Immersion is designed to promote mindfulness with meditation, craniosacral therapy and yoga. Programs range from three to 14 nights, are personalized to each individual, and include an initial health assessment, specialist therapy sessions, a 60- or 90-minute spa treatment and group movement sessions.

The Individual Wellness Immersion experience at Amanbagh is an opportunity for guests to explore the spiritual cleansing discipline of Ayurveda in its homeland. Named after the Sanskrit word for “life,” the program is overseen by the resort’s in-house Ayurvedic physician. The 4-day Ayur Immersion is an introduction to the concept with a complete treatment schedule and nutritional plan. The more in-depth Purify Immersion helps prevent illness and eliminates toxins, while the 21-day Rejuvenate Immersion harnesses every aspect of the system to improve overall health and vitality.

Aman is complementing its Individual Wellness Immersions with a series of Group Retreat Experiences, which range from 3-10 days and take place at destinations such as Bhutan, Bali and Hangzhou. The retreats will showcase the skills of hand-picked experts from disciplines as diverse as tai chi, sports science, yoga and nutrition. Each retreat will include workshops, treatments, movement and body work, health-promoting culinary options and cultural excursions that draw on the authentic elements of each location such as monastery visits or cooking classes.
