Friendly Planet Travel recently announced three new action-packed tours in South America.

The Marvelous Rio de Janerio itinerary takes travelers on a city tour followed by a 15-minute ride on a cogwheel train through the Tijuca Rainforest, on their way to Corcovado Mountain and the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer. They’ll also visit the Sunday Hippie Fair and Craft Market in Ipanema, as well as take an optional jeep tour of the Tijuca Forest. Rates start at $1,399 pp.

Meanwhile, on the Best of South America tour, travelers will fly to Buenos Aires from Iguazu where they will soak in the city’s famous French architecture, enjoy local shopping and explore Plaza de Mayo, the historical and political center of the city. Rates start at $2,599 pp.

The company’s Spectacular Rio & Iguazu Falls tour takes travelers from Rio de Janeiro to Iguazu Falls. Straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, the falls consist of 275 smaller falls and islands, and are believed to have been discovered in 1542. Rates start at $1,899 pp.

All three tours include flights from Miami, transfers, first-class hotels, daily breakfast, and guided touring. All the hotels are centrally located and intra-South American transportation is included in the price of the tour. Many excursions and extensions are available.
