This past February, Lindblad Expeditions hosted our editor-in-chief Rick Shively on a week-long cruise through the Galapagos Islands, visiting Española, Floreana, Santa Cruz and Daphne Islands. Through a series of articles, Rick blogged the entire trip, and invites you to follow along.
Rick began the series with Enjoying a Friendly Galapagos Adventure with Lindblad Expeditions, where he describes his initial reactions to the destination, the culture, the embarkation process and his new home-away-from-home, the National Geographic Endeavour.
In his second write-up, Exploring the Galapagos and Española Island, we get our first taste for the island scenery and wildlife that, Rick assures us, is in abundance. He also mentions the educational aspects of sailing with Lindblad Expeditions.
Following that, Visiting The Galapagos’ Floreana Island With Lindblad Expeditions uncovers a truly unique—and somewhat bizarre—local history, of course in addition to an account of the wealth of activities and natural wonders that the voyagers experienced.
Santa Cruz & Daphne—Jewels of the Galapagos shows readers another side of the Galapagos—a side that doesn’t focus only on tourism, but instead on preservation of the natural resources of the islands.
Finally, The Galapagos—The Final Days gives readers an overview of the entire package Lindblad Expeditions presents through its Galapagos cruise: a package infused with discovery, entertainment, education, and experiences never to be forgotten.
