Equatortrekking, an Ecuador-based adventure travel company, is offering foodies a chance learn all about Ecuadorian chocolate with its Gourmet Adventure in the Cacao Route tour.

Priced from $2,430 pp dbl land-only, this 9-day journey allows travelers to sample chocolate, learn how it is used in indigenous dishes, and examine its harvest and supply chain, including visits to a chocolate factory in Guayaquil and stop in Vinces, the capital of the cacao world.

“Our travelers are always pleasantly surprised by the quality of Ecuadorian chocolate,” says Mateo Ponce, founder of Equatortrekking. “This response inspired us to combine Ecuador’s rich chocolate history with the country’s people, landscape and culture to create this distinctively flavored tour.
