Puerto Rico's Crashboat Beach

In addition to sharing the most recent news on increased commissions in Mexico, we’ve also found a few savings that can get you on your way to a fantastic, inexpensive trip to the Caribbean…if you book soon.

Mexico Commissions
Riviera Maya properties El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels and Azul Hotels by Karisma are now offering a bonus 5 percent commission on top of their typical rates—which range from 12-15 percent—for a total possible commission of 19 percent.

These beachfront Gourmet Inclusive properties offer your clients everything they need in a Mexican beach vacation, such as gourmet restaurants, entertainment options both day and night, adults-only relaxation at El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels and family-friendly options including the Azulitos Play House kids’ club at Azul Hotels by Karisma properties.

Bonus commissions are available on bookings through Sept. 30, for clients traveling through Dec. 22. Use booking code 5%KAR. For more information, call (866) KARISMA or visit karismahotels.com.

On the other hand, vacation rental properties offer a flexibility and privacy that many resorts can’t…and Travel Rental Network works with more than 550 commissionable vacation rental homes throughout Mexico.

With so many properties in its network, it’s almost certain that your clients will find the perfect accommodations in just the right location for their visit…meanwhile, you’ll collect an easy 10 percent commission. For more information, call (514) 558-1506 or visit travelrentalnetwork.com.

Puerto Rico Agent Travel
A new Free Adventure promotion has been launched this fall by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), aimed at getting both agents and their clients out to see more of what the country has to offer.

“PRTC is eager to welcome travel agents to the island to familiarize them with our offerings,” says PRTC executive director Luis Rivera-Marin. “Research shows that vacations booked through travel agents are booked further in advance, and for longer stays because they involve their customers with more of what the destination has to offer outside the hotels, than those scheduled independently by travelers. We want to work with agents to give them the resources they need to excel in that respect as well as an opportunity to enjoy Puerto Rico for themselves.”

The Free Adventure promotion provides just that—one free experience for up to two guests, such as kayaking in a bioluminescent bay, a hiking tour of the El Yunque rainforest, a culinary tour of San Juan or a zipline adventure through Toro Verde Adventure Park. The Free Adventure promotion is valid on stays of at least four nights at one of the 27 participating hotels.

Hotels should be contacted directly for special low-rate offers associated with the promotion, as well as which tours are available from that property. Vacations must be booked by Sept. 16 for travel by Nov. 16. For more information, call (800) 866-7827 or visit seepuertorico.com.

Adding to that, Hilton Worldwide Hotels and Resorts is offering its own Travel Agent Rate promotion through Sept. 30, with nightly rates from $99 at three properties throughout the island.

Choosing a stay at El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Resort means access to the private 100-acre Palomino Island, which offers an 18-hole golf course, Golden Door Spa, Coqui Water Park, seven tennis courts, casino, more than 20 on-property dining venues, 35-slip marina and excursions such as scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. Isla Verde’s El San Juan Resort & Casino, meanwhile, offers a “European-style” walking village of boutique shops, the Edouard de Paris Spa, Encanto Beach Club and a 16,500-sq.-ft. casino. The family-friendly Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza provides a ScoutAbout scavenger hunt program for its littlest guests, in addition to three outdoor pools, watersports, tennis courts, an outdoor massage area and, for adults, a 24-hour casino.
