AIC Hotel Group Introduces UNICO Hotels

AIC Hotel Group has officially introduced UNICO Hotels, an adults-only, all-inclusive hotel brand designed to reflect each property’s locale and culture. Each property will be named based on its location’s latitude and longitude. For instance, the first property, located in Riviera Maya and scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2017, will be named 20º 87º.

“The target demographic for UNICO Hotels ranges from the age of 30 to 60 years old and caters to the youthful aspirational traveler interested in immersive cultural experiences,” says Frank Maduro, v.p. of marketing for AIC Hotel Group.

Signature experiences will be featured at each property, such as an in-room gallery with art to purchase from local artists and an “Experience Room” where guests select their own beach gear and personalized in-room amenities sourced from local craftsmen. Food and beverage options will include an onsite distillery or brewery that will incorporate regional flavors and ingredients, plus a rotating chef restaurant concept with a focus on emerging flavors. Guests will also have access to a Guest Experience App, which will feature information on each week’s activities.

UNICO Hotels will embrace the contemporary culture and connect guests to each destination as it is today, versus relying on the area’s tradition and heritage. The new brand, will also fully immerse guests in the destination through private excursions such as exploring the region’s lesser known alcoves with local hosts, and intimate guided outings through local artists’ studios. While on property, guests can take part in cooking classes taught by local chefs or lectures held by experts in the area.

UNICO Hotel Riviera Maya will feature 448 guestrooms with ocean views, featuring plunge pools and double hydro spa tub options, a crafted mini bar with all the essentials for guests to make their own cocktail, three pools, four globally infused gourmet restaurants, and five bars and lounges, including a cigar lounge and two swim-up bars. The property’s wellness center will feature a fitness facility, a visiting instructor program, and personal training sessions, plus a spa with 18 cabanas, hydrotherapy facilities with a plunge pool and hamman, as well as a steam and sauna room.
