National Geographic magazine often features award-winning photography within its pages, and through Lindblad Expeditions’ Baja California Land & Sea Photography Retreat, your clients have the chance to meet and learn from those famous photographers during a 7-day land and sea voyage in Baja, CA, and the Sea of Cortez.
The itineraries combine a 3-night stay at Baja hideaway Rancho Las Cruces with a 4-night cruise, all the while accompanied by National Geographic photographers Bob Krist, Michael Melford and Ralph Lee Hopkins. In addition, a Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructor and two photo/video editing specialists will also be on hand to teach image processing techniques.
At Rancho Las Cruces, participants will enjoy sunrise photography sessions full of tips and techniques, featuring such topics as composition, light, workflow and editing. They’ll also have the opportunity to hike into the forest, kayak along the bay and take a horseback trot through the area to test out their daily lessons. Then, aboard the 62-passenger National Geographic Sea Bird, they’ll show off what they’ve learned with kayak, snorkeling and island-hopping excursions. The Sea of Cortez is well known for whale and dolphin sightings, and a stop at Los Islotes will offer spectacular opportunities to interact with gatherings of curious sea lions, too.
Two Baja California Land & Sea Photography Retreat itineraries are available, from Jan. 4-11, 2013 (voyage beginning Jan. 8), and from Jan. 8-15, 2013 (voyage beginning Jan. 11). Rates start at $5,330 pp dbl for a Category 1 cabin. Additionally, departures booked before Oct. 30 are also eligible to win free roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Los Cabos for either trip.
