CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort

Calabrese, who’s known to sneak out to the CasaMagna’s Champions Sports Bar for a round of karaoke, adds, “We believe the key to our success—20 years leading our market share—lies in the perfect balance we’ve struck between personalized guest service, luxury accommodations and offering the best value that a traveler can find in any Cancun property.”

Among our favorite stops here is the gigantic pool with swim-up bar at the CasaMagna, which faces the ocean and is so large that there’s plenty of space for young and old to enjoy without getting into each other’s hair. Champions Sports Bar is an ideal spot in which to spend a casual evening, with 40 TV screens for sports watching, nightly karaoke, pool tables and a late-night DJ (clients can take advantage of the resort’s babysitting service if they want to spend a fun night here). On the fine dining front, Mikado’s Japanese-Thai offerings are spectacular, fresh and flavorful, but have guests also spend a night gorging at La Capilla Argentina. They won’t soon forget the generous and crazy-good carpaccios, empanadas, chistorra (Argentine sausage) and other appetizers, not to mention the seafood and beef choices and “wine cave” with more than 200 labels.

Yet another spot on our “love” list: Las Ventanas—the gift shop/coffee shop/deli for aromatic hot beverages on the go or ice cream indulgences for a hot day in Cancun. Las Ventanas is also a blessing for clients traveling with little ones—and CasaMagna scores well with children with the Marriott Kids program, which offers a ton of fun options: piñata making, sandcastle and water balloon contests, Spanish lessons, painting, board games and more, plus lunch. Those who are old enough can also participate along with their parents in the resort’s Sea Turtle Program, which runs from May through October and allows guests to help release baby turtles out to sea.

The resort shares some of its facilities with the adjoining JW Marriott Cancun, so guests enjoy an enhanced experience in the form of a great spa, three pools and seven specialty restaurants. Guests at the CasaMagna and the JW have signing privileges at either hotel, making it that much easier to enjoy the best of both properties.

The resort’s Sand Dollar package, available through the end of November, lets clients book three nights and get the fourth one free plus enjoy free breakfast starting at $149 per room, per night (promo code S29).

marriott perks Agents who’ve passed Marriott’s Hotel Excellence Training Program can enjoy the resort’s Fam-Tastic rates for $89 per room, per night (EP and pre-tax with a 4-night minimum stay) through Dec. 16, provided they pack their IATAN card and program certificate. Additionally, agents who book 20 nights through Dec. 15 can enjoy three nights free.

Another incentive is Dollar Days, which rewards agents with $25 American Express gift checks for every 4-room nights booked through Dec. 16. With Premium Dollar Days, a 4-night suite booking gets agents a $100 gift check. There’s also the Partners in Paradise Awards, where Marriott nominates their “best of the best” travel partners. Twice-yearly winners receive a $500 American Express gift check, a plaque and recognition through the Marriott and Renaissance Caribbean & Mexico Resorts’ e-newsletter.
