Eye on the World: Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, which is owned and managed by Playa Hotels & Resorts and officially opened its doors December 2014.

During my 3-day stay, not only did I get to explore the renovated property, which was formerly a Dreams resort, but I also had the opportunity to explore the jungle (during one of the resort’s included tours) and tour the city of Puerto Vallarta. Somehow I managed to sneak in a couple of hours on the private beach, Las Estacas Beach, where the resort is located, relaxing under a grass-roofed tiki hut and sipping a pina colada. The resort boasts that no matter where you are standing, you have ocean views—that’s evident in the grand open-air lobby, my suite in the Concierge Tower (where I had direct ocean views from the bed), and from every restaurant on property—by the way, the food on property was delicious, I might add.

After my sneaked-in beach time, the grand opening celebration that night was nothing short of a face-plant into Mexican culture complete with a 40-person mariachi performance, a fire-blowing performance, acrobatics, a traditional Mexican dance performance, tequila tastings, an array of authentic Mexican dishes to taste, plus lots more; and of course, they didn’t forget the fireworks. The entertainment seemed to change by the hour and all of my senses were ignited, from the sites of the butterfly man in stilts, to the sun setting on the Golden Zone’s horizon.

Here’s a peak of my experience at the new all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva, and trust us, book this trip for your clients because these pictures don’t do the beauty of the property justice as it’s surrounded by the ocean, cliffs, and nestled in the mountain.
