Las Brisas Ixtapa

written by | Posted on February 1st, 2010

hungry for more Las Brisas Ixtapa offers guests six restaurants and four bars ranging from casual poolside snacking to upholstered banquettes and fine china. Several have garnered prestigious awards: one AAA three-diamond award each for La Brisa II and the Restaurante El Mexicano, and the coveted AAA four-diamond award for Portofino Ristorante—the only one in Ixtapa to receive this honor. We firmly believe much of that is due not only to the absolutely intoxicating dishes, but also to their presentation: one particularly intricate pasta dish combines tender seafood with freshly made noodles, and includes having the latter nestled in a carved-out wheel of imported parmesan, the better to soak up the flavor. The resulting blissful platter can be served with a stunning bottle of Santo Tomas Sirocco from the restaurant’s well-stocked wine cellar. A match made in heaven. Restaurants are included in the Brisas Gourmet package, an all-inclusive dining option that stands head and shoulders above the usual AI fare, and everything can be ordered from 24-hour room service.

a little mexican romance Brisas Ixtapa loves a little romance, and proves it with a table set for two on the beach, lit by tiki torches, reached by a pathway lined with candles and covered in flower petals. The menus run along the lines of shrimp mignon with saffron sauce, salmon wellington with watercress and all sorts of other delectable tidbits, washed down with the best bubbly. They also set an admirable stage for weddings: think a Pacific Ocean background, or a moonlit garden and a terrace dripping with flowers. Couples can consult the onsite wedding planner to make a special occasion truly unforgettable.

in parting… “What hasn’t changed through the years, even with this extensive renovation,” says de Leon, “is the high level of service offered by our staff. I think it goes beyond the spotless facilities, the watchful waiters or the great tennis pro. We’re very proud of our hotel and we love making sure our guests have the time of their lives. To me, that shows in everything we do. The amount of repeat guests also says a lot, and every day we look forward to greeting new faces.”

The resort is currently offering its Mexico Holiday Breeze package that allows guests to choose two out of the following four options during their stay: a buffet breakfast for two adults; room upgrade to the next category; $100 F&B credit for every paid 4-night stay or $200 F&B credit for every paid 7-night stay; or fourth night free. Room nights start at $225 plus 19 percent tax. The package is good from April 5 through Dec. 25. Travel agents can take advantage of a $45 room night rate (plus 19 percent tax) on the EP (agents also receive a 25 percent discount on food and beverage).
