Mexico’s Luxury Trail

The picturesque Greg Norman-designed El Camaleon Golf Club, meanwhile, is “…just a breathtaking course, winding around the tropical jungle and mangroves, leading out to the sea,” says Graf. “It’s home to the only official PGA Tour event held outside the U.S. or Canada, and a course our guests look forward to playing every time they return.” This is also the home of Mexico’s only Jim McLean Golf School. Rosewood Mayakoba’s 3-night minimum Play Where the Pros Play package, good through Dec. 17, includes a day of unlimited golf, discounts on spa treatments, a welcome gift set with Mayakoba golf balls and daily buffet breakfast. It starts at $697 per night.

mexico city Bringing the brand’s legendary butler service and daily tea and champagne ritual to Mexico’s capital, The St. Regis Mexico City has recently unveiled a selection of culinary offerings inspired by the Astor family, who created the first St. Regis in New York in 1904. At its signature Diana Restaurant, they can “Dine with the Astors” in The Decanter Room and enjoy an incredible 6-course meal with expert wine pairings—think rack of lamb au jus with choron sauce and Normandy flounder and mushrooms stuffed with shrimp—for $220 pp for groups of eight through 12. Groups of up to six, meanwhile, can sit at the chef’s table, right in the kitchen, and indulge in chef Jorge Vallejo’s interpretation of Mexican flavors. A tasting menu, complete with an array of appetizers, can include everything from Mexican-style marinated grilled fish with plantains to turkey in ash mole with arborio Mexican rice, peas and sesame oil. This option, also with appropriate wines, is $150 pp.

Clients can incorporate these experiences, plus other “wow” moments easily available throughout the resort, into stays and packages such as Taste of Luxury, which starts at $419 per night for a deluxe room. The 3-night offer includes a complimentary fourth night plus daily breakfast.

The St. Regis is easily among the most elegant in Mexico City, made even more appealing by a perfect location right on historic Paseo de la Reforma. From here, clients can easily discover landmarks such as the Angel of Independence monument, plus posh galleries and boutiques. This hotel is an ode to refined hospitality, with stately guestrooms and suites that offer inspiring views of the city, a state-of-the-art Remede Spa and an indoor pool with a juice bar just steps away. Another perk: St. Regis’ butlers are available via e-mail, so clients can send their requests even when they have stepped out.
