with kids in mind The Gran Caribe Real in Cancun and The Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen welcome children with a host of age-appropriate amenities, including a teen club called T-Zone; the resort in Cancun also features a great water park, Oki Splash, with lots of water slides and replicas of a medieval castle and pirate ship. Both resorts are offering free dining, fun and stay to kids 12 and under (maximum two per adult’s double occupied suite) when they book a Family Suite or higher; at the resort in Cancun, up to three can also stay at a Gran Master Suite, which features bunk beds for kids. Clients headed to Cancun can take advantage of this offer throughout the year, while those opting for The Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen can enjoy it from April 11-Oct. 31. Through April 10, kids get a 60 percent discount. Teens 13-17 can enjoy a 40 percent discount year-round at both resorts.

Guests staying a minimum of five nights at an oceanfront suite at either resort get one complimentary Swim with the Dolphins experience if they book by Feb. 22, and a 50 percent discount on additional entries to the program.

Packages at The Royal Playa del Carmen start at $1,357 for a 3-night stay for two in a jr. suite, inclusive of meals, beverages, taxes and gratuities; at The Royal in Cancun, it’s $1,421. The Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen starts at $1,091 for two people for three nights and The Gran Caribe Real Cancun runs $756.
