Camelback Inn Resort & Spa
Camelback Inn Resort & Spa is just one of the many fabulous resorts the state of Arizona has to offer.

Arizona offers unbeatable scenery—that can’t be denied. Another fact: the state is speckled with some of the most fabulous, luxurious properties in the country. Check out some of our top picks for a flawless stay in the “Copper State.”

Camelback Inn
Welcome to Scottsdale, AZ, where beautiful desert landscapes meet manicured golf greens, and rugged mountainscapes border the horizon. It’s a beautiful scene made even more serene by Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, an oasis offering spacious accommodations, top-notch golf and spa services that leave guests glowing.

More than 450 Casita guestrooms are offered at Camelback Inn, each featuring kitchenette, high-speed Internet and—our favorite—French doors that lead out onto a private patio or balcony and an incredible view. Amenities throughout the resort include two heated pools with daily cabana rentals available; a six-court Tennis Pavilion with matching services provided; Pitch N’ Putt golf course for all ages; Children’s Playground and Jackrabbit Swimming Pool for kids, and hiking and biking trails.

The Spa at Camelback Inn, though, is an amenity that requires a mention of its own. Recognized as a top spa by 100 Best Spas of the World spa guide, the Spa at Camelback Inn offers 32,000 sq. ft. of relaxation, with 32 treatment rooms, Sprouts spa restaurant and a full menu of services—including day packages—inspired by Native American cultures. The spa even features a spa store so that guests can take a bit of relaxation home with them.

Meanwhile, golfers will be kept busy at Camelback Golf Club at the 18-hole championship Padre course, a par-72 known for its strategic layout and challenging water holes. The club’s second course, the 18-hole par-72 Indian Bend, is currently undergoing construction to restructure individual holes, add alternate tee locations, and reconfigure course topography (all to be completed and reopened by October 2013). Additional amenities at Camelback Golf Club include a practice facility, golf shop, clubhouse and restaurant.

Discounted summer rates start at $139 per night. For those seeking rejuvenation, recommend the Spa Massage package, starting at $189 per night, which pairs overnight accommodations with a 1-hour Swedish massage. For more information, call (800) 582-2169 or visit camelbackinn.com.

Enchantment Resort
In Sedona, meanwhile, clients will find Enchantment Resort nestled right up against the red rocks Arizona is famous for. Upon arrival, guests will be “enchanted” by the new virtual check-in process—just one benefit of the resort’s recent $25 million renovation—and the welcoming fireplaces and lounge areas of the resort clubhouse. Before they reach their room, they’ll most likely come across dining venues Che-Ah-Chi, tapas-style View 180, the 2,000-bottle Wine Bar and casual dining Tii Gavo.

The 218 richly furnished guestrooms highlight the local culture, featuring warm earth tones and Native American influences. Rooms here range from studio-style Casitas to 2-bedroom Casa Suites, each offering outdoor decks, high-speed Internet, daily complimentary beverages and mini-bar—the more premium rooms also providing kitchens, dining rooms, and even private parking areas.

At Mii amo Spa, resort guests will enjoy 16 treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, library, fitness center and Mii amo Cafe. Additional amenities and activities at Enchantment Resort include hiking and biking in the property’s 70 acres of mountainous property, tennis, championship croquet and bocce ball. The resort’s pool area was another benefactor of the redesign, having doubled in size and been raised 10 ft. to provide incredible 360-degree views. In addition, a Native American program includes the Walk to the Ruins, Medicine Walk, Native American Drum & Flute sessions and weekly documentaries.

Rates start at $325 per night, with a variety of deals available, from the Fourth Night Free promotion—valid through Sept. 12—to the Journey at Enchantment package, which starts at $2,125 dbl and includes two nights in a Junior Suite, three meals daily, one 90-minute and two 60-minute spa services per person and complete access to Mii amo. For more information, call (800) 826-4180 or visit enchantmentresort.com.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain
