Chicago The Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago has announced a $110 million investment into the expansion and renovation of the property.
The renovation will occur through three phases, the first of which begins with the construction of a new tower. Set to add 460 new guestrooms including 12 suites and two premium suites, the tower is expected to be completed in mid-2013. Additional work to be completed on the property includes the redesign of Hyatt Regency McCormick Place’s in-house coffee shop, Daily Grind, as well as its fine dining restaurant Shor, both of which will benefit from an expanded seating area, with Daily Grind receiving WiFi Internet access and Shor receiving a larger private dining room.

Langkawi, Malaysia Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has debuted the Four Points by Sheraton Langkawi Resort.

Hong Kong The Peninsula Hong Kong is preparing to put its best face forward, as it recently commenced a room enhancement and redesign project aiming to have all 297 of the hotel’s guestrooms transformed by its completion.
Working on one building at a time, the project has initially focused on The Peninsula Tower, to be reopened in August 2012, and will later focus on the original building, to be completed by early-2013.
Newly enhanced rooms will follow Peninsula standards, including a luxurious yet residential feel with classic modern and simple elegance.
