Boasting the design and conceptual influences of four big names, SLS Hotel South Beach has finally opened its doors as SLS Hotels’ new—and first—east coast U.S. location.
With cuisine decided by master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi and SLS Hotels’ culinary director Jose Andres, plus decor from the likes of famous designer Philippe Starck and rock legend Lenny Kravitz, SLS Hotel South Beach offers an extravagant yet whimsical hotel experience.
Upon exploring the resort, guests will invariably notice design elements by Starck, such as a giant metal rubber duckie statue. Other amenities they’ll come across include two pools with poolside cabanas—featuring flat-screen TVs, games, and spa services—Hyde Beach indoor/outdoor lounge, Japanese fusion cuisine at Katsuya by Starck with a second floor Dragon Lounge, and The Bazaar by Jose Andres, featuring Latin flavors.
Starck also designed the 140 guestrooms and 10 villas with an eclectic blend of Latin, Asian, contemporary and art deco influences. The Tower and Villa Penthouses, though, were reserved for design by Kravitz, who opted for warm and welcoming colors, textures and design elements alongside modern, sleek furnishings. All guestrooms and suites feature ultra-fast Internet service and in-room iPads.
To celebrate its opening, SLS Hotel South Beach is offering a Start Living Sexy package through Oct. 31, inclusive of complimentary room upgrade, complimentary food and beverage experience at Hyde Beach, and 15 percent off best available room rates.
