“Nibbling on sponge cake, watching the sun bake, all of those tourists covered with oil, strumming my six string, on my front porch swing, smell those shrimp, they’re beginning to boil. Wasted away again in Margaritaville….” That sense of relaxation and total escape depicted in Jimmy Buffett’s hit song, “Margaritaville,” is the vibe behind the new Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood Beach, Florida opening in the summer of 2015.

“With the essence of the Margaritaville brand and the inspiration of Jimmy Buffett’s lyrics and lifestyle, our offerings go well beyond the expected,” says Cate Farmer, general manager for Margaritaville. “The tropical vibe and feeling of escapism will be evident immediately upon arrival. From the moment you step into the property and are welcomed by our staff, you have the ability to customize your escape and enjoy the beauty and engagement of our tropical paradise.”

“This Hotel Room”
Guestrooms will be designed in what Farmer refers to as “coastal-luxe,” inspired by the tropical destination while providing a comfortable, styled, and casual feel. “It’s barefoot chic,” she points out. All rooms and suites will feature balconies that overlook the Atlantic Ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway and will bring in the colors of the sea, sand, and sky with sleek teak-finished furnishings, subtle maritime accents, and white bedding. “We also will be including some really impressive, innovative technologies and amenities into our rooms, further setting the resort apart,” adds Farmer.

“Coastal Confessions”
The pool area will feature watersports and activities, including dueling FlowRiders—a stimulated surfing experience, cabanas, and poolside food trucks. And for those looking for a bit more of a relaxful escape, the 11th floor will offer License to Chill—an adults-only area—plus additional sneak-away spots where one can swing in a hammock.

“We believe Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort truly is the perfect destination for travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation,” says Farmer. “There are so many wonderful things about Hollywood Beach and Greater Fort Lauderdale. It is important that we incorporate authentic local touches and elements that really do reflect the destination and create a strong sense of place for travelers.”

“Songs from St. Somewhere”
The property will also offer guests a kids’ club and a family program, as well as a spa, St. Somewhere Spa (named after Buffett’s 2013 album, “Songs from St. Somewhere”), which Farmer says is a “luxurious treat for locals and travelers.” This 15,000-sq.-ft. facility with 11 treatment rooms features steam rooms, monsoon showers, and a cascade pool. “This is going to be an incredible place to just chill,” she adds.

Food trucks around the pool won’t be the only dining option, as the property will also house seven bars and restaurants, including an all-new Margaritaville-inspired fine dining venue. Other dining venues include LandShark Bar & Grill, License to Chill Rooftop Bar, Changes in Attitude Lone Palm Bar, 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar, and JWB Prime Steak & Seafood.

“It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere”
And what’s a “Jimmy Buffett” property without a little live entertainment? To keep up with the brand’s culture, the property will also offer several live entertainment venues. “One thing I am sure of is that guests will absolutely love what we have to offer overlooking the ocean, including some really exciting live entertainment that fits with the Margaritaville lifestyle and tradition,” says Farmer.

Though the hotel is currently only booking corporate groups, they will offer agent commissions when reservations open and will be announcing the commission structure in the coming months, so stay tuned. “We greatly value travel agents and understand what an important distribution channel this is,” says Farmer. Special offers will also be announced in the coming months. Farmer suggests those interested in the resort should follow them on Facebook to learn about the offers as they’re released.
