WHITE White Modern Cuisine on the second floor of Palm Beach Plaza Mall is the contemporary eatery of innovative award-winning Aruban-born Chef Urvin Croes. Trained in the Netherlands and in Italy, he has worked in such fine establishments as the Michelin-starred Grand Hotel Karel V in Utrecht, Holland. Back to Aruba, he joined the culinary artists at Windows on Aruba and was sous chef at Amuse Bistro before opening White, promoting the harmony between food and wine, balancing quality and flavor. White features a stylish all-white air-conditioned dining room, and an airy terrace lounge serving retro and contemporary cocktails, paired with an original lounge menu. The restaurant menu features delightfully presented and delicious hot and cold appetizers, land and sea dishes and desserts such as pan fried duck, steak basket, caramel and rum mousse and passion fruit mojito. White is open from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
TASTE OF BELGIUM The new Taste of Belgium at Palm Beach Plaza is open from 7 a.m. til 1 a.m. daily. The sleek black and white interior boasts a modern design with separate sections including extensive bar, lounge area, dining room and spacious terrace. The full menu features a host of dishes all served with a distinct continental flair, including petite and full breakfasts; salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps and omelets for lunch; and sumptuous steak, seafood and vegetarian selections for dinner. Taste of Belgium is also known for rich desserts including Belgian waffles, profiteroles and apple pie.
BLUE LOBSTER Blue Lobster opened on Palm Beach Road serving up a taste of the Caribbean laced with international flavors prepared by Chef Sandro Herald hailing from two Michelin-rated hotels in Switzerland. In an ambiance of warm island hospitality featuring indoor and outdoor seating, diners are wowed by the 15-item lobster menu that includes lobster martini, thermidor, croquettes, salad, linguine, ragout and risotto, as well as by fresh seafood, USDA beef, local Creole dishes and more. Blue Lobster is open for lunch from 11 a.m. til 2 p.m., and for dinner with two seatings at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
SCABECHE The Caribbean Palm Village Restaurant, now known as Scabeche, is celebrating its 1-year anniversary. Scabeche pays homage to the unique regional cooking of Peru and other Latin American countries, with a distinctly Caribbean flair. The affordable menu features catch of the day, ceviche Aruban style, frutti di mare, and shrimp and scallops. Selections for landlubbers include the huge tenderloin tika. Theme nights are Carnival show on Monday, Italian night on Tuesday, all-you-can-eat BBQ ribs on Wednesday, and Karaoke Party night on Thursday with famed island entertainer Lloyd Baptiste.
SUNSET GRILLE Sunset Grille’s Sunday Champagne Brunch is back, served from 11 a.m. til 2 p.m., complemented by bottomless flutes of champagne and mimosas. The sumptuous buffet boasts freshly baked pastries and breads, hot and cold cereals, tropical fruits, yogurts, sliced shrimp, smoked salmon, imported cheeses and charcuterie, composed salads, clam chowder, fluffy scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, breakfast meats, link sausage, bacon, Caribbean potatoes, pancakes, and French toast. Patrons can then visit the exhibition kitchen for omelets made to order or tasty main courses including beef tenderloin, shrimp, pork, grouper, chicken, pasta and freshly baked pizza. Terrace seating overlooks the tropical garden, or opt for elegant, air-conditioned dining instead.
FUEL SPORTS BAR & GRILL Fuel Sports Bar & Grill officially opened at Bushiri Karting Speedway, offering good food and good vibes with foosball tables, billiard tables, and big-screen TVs to watch daily sports. This cozy sports bar has different sports available to watch such as UFC, Formula 1 racing, NFL football, basketball, baseball, extreme sports and much more. The delicious menu is prepared by Chef Ludwig Samson, formerly of Pam Pam Restaurant, including not only sports bar staples such as nachos, chicken wings, loaded fries, burgers and hotdogs but also specialties right off the grill including sate with coconut panda sauce, half chicken, grilled fajitas, baby back ribs and sirloin steak.
