One year after the devastation caused by Hurricane Odile in Mexico, most of Los Cabos’ hotel properties are back in operation. One such hotel, AMResorts’ Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa, reopened earlier this month following extensive renovations. During its grand reopening, the AAA four-diamond resort, situated along the shores of the Sea of Cortez between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, revealed a new lobby, expanded and remodeled restaurants and lounges, and a refurbished fitness center, as well as an enhanced Dreams Spa by Pevonia and Explorer’s Club for Kids. The resort’s new look also includes the addition of an infinity pool and children’s pool, plus rain showers and private balconies in the property’s 213 suites.

Guests who book by Oct. 30, 2015, receive a discounted room rate starting $195 pp per night, and all of the benefits of Dreams Resorts & Spas’ all-inclusive Unlimited-Luxury program, featuring access to oceanfront bars and entertainment venues; four onsite a la carte restaurants, a buffet, a grill and a cafe; unlimited international and domestic top-shelf spirits served at four bars and lounges; 24-hour room and concierge service; pool and beach wait service; a daily refreshed mini-bar; daily maid service; invitations to themed parties; and endless daytime activities and nightly entertainment. For more information, call (866) 237-3267 or visit dreamsresorts.com/los-cabos.

“The remainder of 2015 and 2016 are going to be great for the destination,” says Ruben Reachi, managing director of Los Cabos Tourism Board. “Through the end of 2016, some of the properties that will be added to the destination include a JW Marriott, Le Blanc Spa Resort and The Park Hyatt. Looking further into the future we plan to welcome Solaz by Starwood a Luxury Collection and The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, among others. Additionally, new flights to the destination including the launch of Alaska Airlines’ direct flight from Orange County to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) (launching today) and Southwest’s new flight from Houston’s Hobby Airport (HOU) launching next week (Oct. 15) will help contribute to the increase in tourism.”

Other hotels launching over the next three years include VieVage Los Cabos, an Auberge Resorts property; Montage Hotels & Resorts; Mar Adentro by Encanto; and Breathless by AMResorts.

“The destination has been seeing a consistent increase in visitors over the last few years. Last year (2014) we had 1.6 million visitors and are expecting 1.8 million visitors this year (2015),” notes Reachi. “With the addition of nearly 4,000 hotel rooms to the destination’s inventory over the next three years it’s no wonder why airlift to the destination is increasing. Additionally, the increased airlift provides travelers from all across the U.S. easier access to our beautiful destination.”
