Casas del XVI and Sublime Samana Hotel and Residences resorts in the Dominican Republic are offering a cultural package experience and limited-time, fall promotion.

In Santo Domingo, Casas del XVI’s new cultural package special, available now through Nov. 30, 2015, includes a 2-night stay, breakfast and tour of the city’s ciudad colonial (colonial city) via train or trikke. The 10-guestroom boutique hotel, which opened last March in the colonial district, is actually a collection of three, newly renovated colonial houses. Each house is decorated with artifacts, local artwork and handcrafted local and international furniture in a theme that reflects Dominican culture and Spanish colonial history. The Casa del Arbol features an interior Spanish-style courtyard and window bays facing the street. In the Casa de los Mapas, guestsrooms feature vintage maps once used by Spanish explorers. The new Casas Macoris is actually a former convent that was converted into a five-star property. Each house also comes with butler service. Outside of the hotel, guests can walk along the city’s cobblestone streets to the first cathedral, hospital, customs house and university in the Americas, or visit the area’s collection of museums, theaters, monuments, outdoor cafes and restaurants. Rates for the cultural package start at $600 pp. Regular room rates start at $339 per night in a Superior Room. For more information, call (855) 849-6396 or visit casasdelxvi.com or prohotels.com.

At the Sublime Samana Hotel and Residences, guests receive a $50 resort credit and one of their nights free when booking a 3-night stay or longer between now and Nov. 30, 2015. The Sublime Samana Hotel and Residences makes for the perfect escape since the Samana area remains a bit undiscovered. This means that your clients can enjoy hiking El Limon waterfalls, horseback riding on the beach, and snorkeling and scuba diving in the area’s turquoise waters all in relative seclusion. The 26-suite boutique hotel is located on the Samana Peninsula in the French-influenced town of Las Terrenas. Each suite features floor-to-ceiling windows, a private balcony or terrace, a full dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. Many suites also offer views of the property’s matrix of pools and the ocean in the distance. Resident chef Cristian Baez offers interactive cooking classes for guests to create and sample regional dishes. The hotel’s spa uses locally grown, organic ingredients such as coconut, sea salts, honey and chocolate in all of its body wraps, facials, massages and treatments. Rates start at $600 dbl for three nights in a One Bedroom Suite. Regular room rates start at $315 per night in a One Bedroom Suite.
