One of the pioneers in pop-up hotels, the Papaya Playa Project in Tulum, Mexico, is preparing for its upcoming post pop-up phase, with PopUp Ashram to be held Sept. 15 and Nov. 5.
The concept is dedicated to the spiritually curious. As Michael Liss, the creator of the PopUp Ashram concept, says, “We want to create a spiritual retreat for people who are drawn to yoga or are simply asking the larger questions about life, but haven’t figured out where to turn, what to try, or found a practice that speaks to them. PopUp Ashram acts like a wading pool where you can test and experience many traditions without having to dive into the deep end.”
Guests can take part in the project through either a 5- or 8-day package ($1,095 and $1,935, respectively), during which time they’ll have the chance to participate in various forms of yoga, meditation, pranayama, art, musical experiences and workshops.
