The British Virgin Islands have updates to share such as increased airlift and property upgrades, plus the culinary event—BVI Food Fete.

The BVI Tourism Board is encouraging travelers to visit the 60 islands that make up the BVI as part of its Summer FREEdom program, which includes value-added offers from a variety of properties such as free nights, resort credits, and free transfers and excursions. More Flights
The islands have received increased airlift options: VI Airlink introduced a new flight connecting with Virgin Atlantic and British Airways flights to offer service from Antigua to the BVI two days a week (Fridays and Saturdays); LIAT announced daily flights between Tortola and San Juan, Puerto Rico. This new service provides same day interline connections to New York, Newark, and Orlando on JetBlue and United Airlines.

Property Updates
Peter Island Resort & Spa 
completes its renovations this summer, including enhancements to the Maga Yacht Harbor, a new welcome pavilion, new dive shop, a yacht captains’ lounge, and renovations to the Ocean View and Ocean View Deluxe Suites. Events
The Necker Cup, a 6-day Pro-Am Tennis event on Necker Island, takes place Nov. 28-Dec. 3, 2015. Participants have the opportunity to take part in traditional Necker Island activities such as paddleboarding, sail boat races, kite boarding, wake boarding, snorkeling, massage therapy, and more. This year, the second annual BVI Food Fete, highlighting the flavors of the British Virgin Islands cuisine, will feature different events each week throughout the month of November. Events include demonstrations from visiting chefs from around the globe, culinary competitions, and bar crawls. The month-long festival culminates with the Anegada Lobster Festival.
