Among the most popular choices is the $999 Valley of Fire wedding that takes couples from courthouse to canyonland in limousine style and marries them in the midst of dramatic rock formations before taking advantage of the scenic backdrop for stunning wedding photos.
traditional resort weddings Most wedding packages offered by resort wedding departments are not commissionable to travel agents, but there are various ways the agent does make a profit on this planning. The most common way is through the room block, which can be arranged through the sales department or the wedding coordination department. And another way is the thank you they might receive from the resort. In the case of Wynn and Encore, that is a $100 check to the agent just for the phone call.
“We work with travel agents all the time and they love to work with us because we are able to provide so much flexibility for their clients,” says Jacqueline Montoya, executive director of Weddings @ Wynn Las Vegas. “Although the wedding packages are not commissionable, they get the best rates possible on the room blocks at both Encore and Wynn and these are also commissionable.”
At Wynn, the most popular venue is the $1,500 per hour Primrose Court, a completely private outdoor space that can be decorated with flowers, trellises, floating candles in the fountain and capable of seating 100 guests for vows. Many couples choose a bare package, such as The Petite Ceremony for $2,590 and then enhance it with added floral options and maybe use of the Primrose Court. The ceremony includes a dedicated wedding consultant, private limousine transfers to the courthouse, VIP check-in, minister, use of private bridal dressing room, a petite rose bouquet and boutonniere, an hour of photo time and prints and web hosting of images from the session, wedding video, personalized wedding certificate and holder, and two glasses of Nicolas Feuillatte Premier Cru Brut Champagne for an intimate toast.
Newlyweds might want to have their wedding night in a Tower Suite at Wynn. Of these, the Parlor Suite provides the more modest choice with just 1,280 sq. ft. of space over the 2-room spread, but featuring Wynn’s signature floor-to-ceiling window views, a mahogany and granite wet bar in the foyer, a separate powder room, high thread-count cotton linens, bedside curtain and lighting controls, a sophisticated in-room entertainment system, walk-in closets, a large bath and dressing area, and room for in-room salon services.
The Salon Suite takes it up a notch with 1,816 sq. ft. of space, floor-to-ceiling views of the Strip, a marble bath area with deep-soaking tub, and a private massage room in the foyer.
The Parlor Suite averages $600 per night on an in-demand weekend and the Salon Suite racks at $800 per night.
At Encore, meanwhile, the Parlor Suite is 1,408 sq. ft. and adds a private massage room, wet bar, dual water closets with telephones and Signature Wynn robes. The Salon Suite expands to 2,261 sq. ft., and places the decor and furnishings into an over-the-top class of both understated and wowing contemporary elegance. Here, the Parlor Suite averages $700 a night while the Salon Suite runs $950.
Loews Lake Las Vegas marks a popular wedding spot where couples can enter on a gondola and marry in a garden setting on the lake and then retreat to a honeymoon of spa pampering, cabana relaxation, golf, and even bonding adventures into the nearby desert expanse.
“We do a lot of weddings here, mostly because there are so many beautiful places around the property where people can get married,” says Raquel Sanchez, spokesperson for the property. Indeed, the new Andalusian Gardens makes for a very popular wedding venue, says Loews weddings and conferences manager, Charlotte Liebmann. “It’s very serene, secluded, right on the lake, and has rose bushes growing all around it. The venue have been expanded to hold around 300 sitting guests, but we are also doing weddings of 100 or even 20 people there.”
Indeed, weddings are so important at Loews the resort invested more than $400,000 to renovate the Andalusian Gardens, now a 4,000-sq.-ft. outdoor terrace. The setting overlooks the lake at the bottom level of the Marrakech-themed resort and is located steps from the lake’s legendary gondolas—a vehicle often used as a floating enhancement to wedding ceremonies requiring a grand entrance by the bride. The space also features accent lighting and a marriage gazebo that can be decorated with roses. There’s also 45,000 sq. ft. of indoor function space at Loews as well.
A commissionable Love on the Lake package includes accommodations in the 524-sq.-ft. Grand Luxury King room, a romantic dinner for two in Marssa (alcohol not included), a private 50-minute couples massage at Spa Moulay, plus the resort fee, all gratuities, and a late checkout. Rates start at $289 pp dbl (additional nights at a discounted rate of $90 pp dbl, Monday-Saturday).
