Golf Bags Fly Free with Southwest Airlines

written by | Posted on May 2nd, 2012

As part of the Southwest Travel Experience, Southwest Airlines allows passengers to check two bags at no cost, with the ability to substitute one checked bag for sporting equipment—such as golf bags.

Hard-sided golf bags containing clubs, balls and shoes may be checked free of charge, while hooded golf bags or golf bags in a soft-sided carrying case will be conditionally accepted.

If golf bags or other items to be substituted for one checked bag exceed 62 inches in size (length plus height plus width) or 50 pounds in weight, passengers may be responsible for excess size and weight charges. For more information, visit southwest.com.
