“We send our team to check and ensure our guests will be receiving the kind of Viking quality we’re famous for,” says Richard Marnell, v.p. of marketing, North America. He adds that Viking was very happy with the bookings for Egypt product and it’s looking forward to resuming bookings after March 31. “The safety of our passengers comes first,” and as long as the destination remains on the State Department’s warning list, there’s going to be reluctance to booking. However, he says, “Considering Egypt was one of the first destinations Westerners traveled to,” he’s confident it’ll be safe to travel there soon.
