AMResorts launched a new travel agent loyalty program, AMRewards, and Recommend was in attendance when AMResorts’ execs visited Miami to share the news with local travel agents.

The new benefits program makes redeeming booking bonuses a little easier, plus it now has sales and marketing support tools available for agents. The point-based system allows agents to earn points that they can then redeem for an AMRewards-branded Visa prepaid card; certificates good for complimentary stays at any AMResort property; client gift vouchers agents can use towards perks such as spa treatments, romantic dinners for two or a Champagne breakfast in bed for their clients; or agents can order co-branded marketing materials such as banner displays, and more. The new program also allows agents to gain points for each individual booking within a group, as opposed to points for the group as a whole.

Also, an account summary helps you keep track of points earned and points pending on two separate tabs, and bookings that were made prior to the new system will also qualify from June 1 onward; just make sure to report them on the new AMRewards site. And if your clients decide to upgrade their booking upon arrival to Preferred status, AMResorts will still give agents the points for that upgrade when the booking is validated—points expire after 18 months after the client takes the trip.
