An Island Getaway with Tahitian Flair
Conrad Hotels & Resorts is also debuting its first property in a new destination with this month’s opening of the Conrad Bora Bora Nui in French Polynesia, marking the destination’s first five-star resort to debut in 10 years. Located in a private cove on Motu To’opua, a small islet off the coast of Bora Bora, Conrad Bora Bora Nui features 114 guestrooms, including 86 overwater bungalows and 28 tropical garden and beach villas, each with its own wall-to-wall sliding door that leads to an expansive viewing deck with sweeping ocean views. For the ultimate retreat, guests can book one of the hotel’s Presidential Villas, Bora Bora’s only 2-story, 2-bedroom overwater accommodations featuring an upstairs sunning deck and whirlpool, three bathrooms, two dressing rooms and a living room.
Amenities include an infinity pool, an overwater lounge and a swim-up pool bar serving international cuisine, plus the full-service Hina Spa, which offers seven indoor treatment rooms and one open-air space overlooking the lagoon; a kids club; a mini-golf course; a fitness center; retail spaces; and complimentary activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, standup paddle boarding and sightseeing boat tours. For an authentic taste of the islands, guests can dine at the resort’s signature restaurant, Iriatai French Restaurant, offering French Brasserie style dishes with breathtaking views of the lagoon from banquet and veranda seating. There’s also the Banyan Chinese Restaurant, offering an a la carte menu of traditional Chinese cuisine inspired by the provinces of Canton and Fujian, the city of Ningbo and the island of Hainan. Additionally, at the Upa Upa Lounge Bar guests can view coral reefs and colorful fish through the lounge’s glass floor deck looking into the resort’s lagoon while munching on a selection of tapas, finger foods and French pastries. After dinner, guests can enjoy digestifs and cigars from a cigar bar while watching a panoramic sunset.
In addition, guests can experience an authentic taste of local Tahitian culture through Conrad’s signature 1/3/5 itineraries, featuring 1-, 3- and 5-hour itineraries that include activities such as ukulele lessons with local musicians and exploring the history of black pearl cultivation at the renowned Maison Robert Wan.
