Abercrombie & Kent’s new 13-day Cuba: Across the Island: People-to-People itinerary, with departures throughout 2016, takes guests across the island from Holguin, the city where Christopher Columbus landed in 1942, to Santiago de Cuba, the country’s second largest city located at its southern tip.

Highlights of the new itinerary include a visit to the Vicentina de la Torre School to watch dancers prepare for an audition, and a traditional pottery making class at Casanova Pottery Studio in Camaguey, where guests learn to make tinajones (earthenware pots). After a boat ride to Cayo Granma, guests meet with local fishermen and children to discuss a local art initiative where kids creates art using objects that have washed onto the island.
