Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has hired Ellen Bettridge as the line’s new president and CEO. Bettridge succeeds Guy Young, who will take on two new roles at The Travel Corporation, Uniworld’s parent company, as part of his promotion. As president and CEO, Bettridge is responsible for managing and overseeing Uniworld’s global business including operations and financial performance, product development, the industry’s guest experience, service enrichment and onboard/onshore programming.
Speaking on her new appointment, Bettridge said, in a press release statement, “I look forward to partnering with Brett [CEO of The Travel Corporation] and collaborating with the entire Uniworld team to ensure that the company continues to lead and maintain the standard of excellence in the river cruise industry, as well as to create innovative experiences, programs and services that appeal to the most discerning and inspired travelers throughout the world.”
Bettridge joins Uniworld from Azamara Club Cruises, where she served as v.p of sales and marketing. While serving as v.p of sales and marketing for Azamara, Bettridge is credited with growing the line’s markets in the Americas and developing strategic relationships with trade and marketing partners.
