Israel Education Course

We created this travel agent education course to help you help us, by increasing the number of general-interest travelers (often called “sophisticated travelers”) visiting Israel, and at the same time, we wanted to help you increase your sales and your profits.

That’s why we’ve not only invested in this comprehensive, 4-part travel agent education course, but we’ve also embarked on an unprecedented, major advertising campaign in the United States. We’re utilizing television and radio, as well as major magazines, travel trade media, newspapers and the Internet to get the word out.

We’ve devised this course to demonstrate the array of possibilities Israel offers. As you’ll learn, there’s more to our country than religion. Yes, many Americans grew up with the Bible, and grew up going to church or synagogue, and they are familiar with the Israel that is the “ Holy Land.” But Israel has a lot more. When you send your clients to Israel, you are giving them a cultural and a leisure vacation unlike any place else in the world.

Israel offers an amazing array of relaxing vacation options that take full advantage of our four seas—the Red, the Med, the Dead and the Galilee—all of which promise your clients an amazing collection of world-class resorts and spas, exciting nightlife, sophisticated cuisine and the opportunity to visit award-winning wineries.

Cultural travel? There are few countries with richer cultural offerings than Israel. We have more museums per capita than any country on earth, as well as orchestras, theater, dance and opera. Our country, as you’ll learn in Part 3 of this course, is a crossroad of cultural influences, from the early Israelites to the Greeks, the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Arabs and the Crusaders, all the way down to the British, all of whom left their stamp on this historic land. You’ll also learn about Israel’s six unique UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Clearly, religious travel is a huge segment of travel to Israel and the travel agent education course will not only detail the various aspects of selling individual and group travel to religious groups—especially to Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals and Jews—but will also discuss selling the cultural aspects of Israel’s history and its influence on the three great monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Many active/adventure travelers may also be surprised to learn about the myriad of adventure possibilities Israel has to offer—from hiking, cycling, whitewater rafting and birdwatching, to deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and boating on the Red and Mediterranean seas.

Interested in even more markets? How about the dramatic increase in cruise ships calling at Haifa and Ashdod, many of which can also be arranged to include a land vacation option in Israel.

It’s all here in our Israel Education Course.

So welcome. And Shalom!

Arie Sommer, Consul
Tourism Commissioner for North and South America
