DAY 1

Jerusalem

  • Mount of Olives
  • Tour of the Old City:
    • Ramparts Walk—A walkway atopthe Old City walls offers a unique panoramic view of the Old City and its surroundings
    • Western Wall
    • Jerusalem Archaeological Park at Southern Wall excavations & 
    • “Davidson” Visitors Centre
    • Western Wall Tunnels
    • Arab Market (Shuk)

DAY 2

Jerusalem – Old City and Surroundings

  • City of David Visitors Centre, hilltop conquered by King David with excavations of 1st Temple Period, Warren’s Shaft and ancient water system
  • Rebuilt Jewish Quarter with ancient Sephardi synagogues and the Cardo
  • Burnt House—Signs of the A.D. 70 fire that destroyed Jerusalem and Temple
  • Christian Quarter
  • Mount Zion, with King David’s Tomb
  • Tower of David Museum—Presenting the History of Jerusalem at the Citadel

DAY 3

Jerusalem—The New City

  • Yad Vashem—National Memorial and Museum of the Holocaust with new Historical Museum, Valley of Communities, Remembrance Hall & Children’s Memorial
  • Israel Museum 
  • Drive by the Government complex 
  • Mishkenot Sha’ananim—First Jewish houses built outside the city walls in the Yemin Moshe neighborhood
  • Downtown Jerusalem for shopping

DAY 4

Modern Tel Aviv & Old Jaffa

  • Tour of Old Jaffa, the ancient seaport and Artists’ Quarter in the Old City
  • Tour “White City” and Independence Hall
  • Tel-Aviv’s street scenes:
    • Sheinkin Street
    • Carmel open-air market
    • Nachlat Binyamin Pedestrian Mall
    • Tel Aviv Port and nightlife spots

DAY 5

Mediterranean Coast

  • Bet Hatfuzot—Diaspora Museum, exhibiting 2,500 years of Jewish history
  • Caesarea National Park, remains of former Roman Capital and Crusader city. Tour of Roman theater, hippodrome and promenade to the renovated port area. See ‘Caesarea Experience,’ computerized presentation about the city’s history
  • Haifa - City tour, including:
    • Baha’i’ Shrine and Gardens
    • Panoramic views of the city and the bay from the Louis Promenade 
    • Renovated German Colony

DAY 6

The Galilee Region

  • Akko, the ancient Phoenician and Crusader seaport and Old Walled city including fishermen’s port, bazaar, Turkish hamam
  • Safed (Tzefat)—The highest city in Israel and one of the four holy cities of Israel, formal center of Kabalistic learning and beautiful old synagogues 

DAY 7

Tiberias & Golan Heights

  • Tiberias—Historical resort town on the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) and one of Israel’s four holy cities
  • Gamla—Ruins of fortified Jewish city destroyed by the Romans and a beautiful nature reserve today (Golan Heights)

DAY 8

Dead Sea

  • Dead Sea—Lowest place on earth (1,300 ft. below sea level)
  • Qumran—Ruins of ancient Essenes settlement where Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered
  • Masada—Ascend and descend by cable-car
  • Kibbutz Ein Gedi and Ein Gedi Antiquities National Park with a well-preserved Byzantine-period synagogue
  • Ein Bokek

DAY 9+10

Eilat

Israel’s southernmost resort town on the Red Sea

  • Eilat tour, including: Underwater Observatory Marine Park, Dolphin Reef, scuba diving, cruise on the Red Sea, birdwatching center, camel riding and Bedouin hospitality and Jeep tour
