Festivals Around Israel

  • The Israeli Festival is held in Jerusalem each year during May and June. The festival features performances of music, dance, and theater from around the world.
  • The Karmiel Dance Festival is held in the northern city of Karmiel each July. The festival includes dance performances and public folk dancing sessions.
  • The city of Acre hosts a festival of alternative theater each year during the holiday of Sukkot. Alternative theater productions are staged indoors and on the street.
  • The Eilat International Jazz Festival takes place during the last week in August in the southern city of Eilat. Front-line jazz musicians gather at the event.

Selling Tips:

  • Travelers interested in culture and history are often hobbyists. Check out groups like photography clubs, book clubs, and universities with non-credit courses in history, art and culture.
  • Check with university professors specializing in history, art and culture who may be interested in putting together a study group to Israel.
  • Museums and art galleries often have patron groups who may be interested in a group program to Israel.
  • Don’t ignore inter-generational travel, with grandparents who want to take their grandchildren to Israel to expand their knowledge of archaeology, history and the origins of religion.
