Adventure-seekers and sea enthusiasts are going to love Poseidon Undersea Resort, slated to open at the end of this year in Fiji. The resort will feature 48 bungalows (24 beachfront and 24 over-water), plus 24 undersea suites and one luxury undersea apartment.
Undersea suites are accessible by an elevator that takes guests 40 ft. below the surface. Nearly 70 percent of these rooms will be wrapped in 4-inch-thick clear acrylic, providing guests with a more-than-panoramic view of the ocean around them, and guests can use an in-room control console to encourage marine life to their windows with external feeding and lighting options.
Poseidon Undersea Resort is part of the larger Poseidon Mystery Island, which, in addition to its private beach and lagoon, also offers such amenities as six restaurants and seven bars—which include an undersea restaurant/lounge and a treetop bar—dive shop, watersports center, retail boutique, 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, underwater library and pool.
All-inclusive introductory rates for a 6-night stay (2-night accommodations in an undersea suite and 4-night accommodations in a beachfront or over-water bungalow) start at $15,000 pp dbl. Rates include diving aboard a luxury expedition submarine, the instruction and experience of piloting a 3-person mini-sub, scuba diving and snorkeling programs, a Sea-Trek experience, wine-tasting classes, a personal and professionally produced photo album documenting your clients’ experience at Poseidon Mystery Island, and access to all amenities at the resort.
