Port Canaveral is expanding its cruise options, with the recent announcement of five new itineraries for the homeported Carnival Dream, flagship of Carnival Cruise Lines’ Dream class. The new options, with several firsts for the cruise line and the port, are a timely complement to other recent enhancements at Port Canaveral, including a modern new cruise terminal and an online parking system that brings a new level of convenience to passengers.
Expanded Cruise Menu
Starting May 2014, Carnival Dream’s expanded year-round menu of cruises will include six different programs, including Carnival’s first ever 8-day Caribbean cruises; the first cruises to the southern Caribbean from Central Florida; the first short-cruise options on a Dream-class vessel; the addition of popular Key West, FL as a port of call; and a new 7-day eastern Caribbean trip unique to Port Canaveral.
8-day cruises: Southern Caribbean sailings include the islands of Aruba, Curacao and Grand Turk. Eastern Caribbean itinerary has four port of calls—St. Maarten, Tortola, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. Both begin on Fridays and end on Saturdays.
5-day cruises: Choices include stops in Key West, Nassau and Freeport or day-long visits to Nassau and Grand Turk.
7-day cruises: In addition to her current itinerary to Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay and Costa Maya, approximately once a month Dream will sail to Grand Turk, San Juan, St Thomas and Nassau.
Enhanced Guest Experience—Book Parking Online
Carnival homeports three ships at Port Canaveral—Carnival Dream, Carnival Ecstasy and Carnival Sensation. Together the vessels are expected to serve 700,000 passengers this year, many of whom sail from Cruise Terminal 6, the newest terminal at the port, which opened last year.
An adjacent parking garage is also new, one of many options for close-to-ship parking at this port. The Canaveral Port Authority recently instituted an online parking system to make the parking experience even smoother and more convenient for its cruise guests at all terminals.
Cruise passengers who like to pre-book and pre-pay trip services now can visit portcanaveral.com/parking, fill in their terminal number, drop-off date and time, pick-up date and time, select from a choice of parking options and pay via credit card. The system is quick and easy to use.
Continuing to add options and features that enhance the ease and pleasure of sailing out of Central Florida has helped Port Canaveral grow to be the second busiest cruise port in the world.
