Super Value Tours is expanding past its Asia offerings, launching its first European tour in Russia. That said, it’s still keeping Asia top of mind with the addition of new tours to Tibet and Mt. Everest for those interested in both scenery and spirituality.

The new 11-day Russian Enchantment tour is a luxury introduction to Russia complete with a stay in the Taleon Imperial Hotel, a privately owned former palace in St. Petersburg, cultural excursions and VIP experiences.

“Super Value Tours’ Russia itinerary is much more than your standard Russian vacation,” says Tara Schreiner, v.p. of sales and marketing, Super Value Tours. “Accommodations in a former palace, balcony seats at the world-famous Mariinsky Theatre and VIP arrangements are only some of the tour highlights. This is our first European tour and we are extremely proud of it.”

Travelers experience medieval Russia in Suzdal and Vladimir, with activities including lunch with a Russian family and painting Matryoshka Russian dolls. In Moscow, travelers visit the Red Square, the Kremlin and imperial jewels of the Armoury Chamber, and take a river cruise with upper deck VIP seating. In St. Petersburg, they sail on a private boat to Peter and Paul Fortress, visit the Hermitage Museum before it opens to the public, and see a Russian ballet from balcony seats at the Mariinsky Theatre.

On the Tibet and Mt. Everest tour, meanwhile, the emphasis is all on the elevation. Travelers visit Qinghai, 10,000 ft. above sea level, hike the shores of the Qinghai Lake and visit the Thangka Museum. Your clients will also take the world’s highest rail journey on the Qinghai-Tibet railway before exploring Tibet’s landmarks, like the Potala Palace, the Tibet Museum, the Sera Monastery and the Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Square.

“Tibet and Mt. Everest is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Schreiner says. “The tour boasts first-class tickets on the Qinghai-Tibet railway, special arrangements at Potala Palace and a visit to the Sera Monastery to witness monks debate. Of course, the journey to Mt. Everest base camp solidifies the itinerary as truly once in a lifetime.”

Guests arrive at Mt. Everest base camp via 4×4 SUVs, eat lunch in a Tibetan-style tent, and take in the sunrise and sunset over the Himalayas. Land-only rates start at $4,950 pp for the Enchanting Russia tour and $4,550 for the Tibet and Mt. Everest tour. For more information, call (877) 388-1777 or visit supervaluetours.com.
