Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios is set to open its doors on July 31, 2020, with new sanitary protocols and a reopening offer.

The new Welcome Home Grand Reopening offer includes additional complimentary nights as well as bonus resort credits to be used during stays between Aug. 1 and Oct. 31, 2020. The longer guests stay, the more complimentary nights and bonus credits they will receive.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome back our guests and extended family to Jamaica Inn,” said Kyle Mais, general manager of Jamaica Inn, in a press release statement. “While we missed our visitors, we have been working hard to create our new Pinwheel of Safety Protocols to ensure we welcome guests back in a safe and secure manner. We look forward to reacquainting them with our true Jamaican hospitality.”

The Pinwheel of Safety Protocols has been developed in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and mandates from Jamaica’s Tourism Product Development. It includes sanitation of baggage upon arrival and and limited contact check-in and-out processes, among other measures.

Jamaica Inn’s 1-and 2-bedroom cottages and beach bungalows are ideally suited for extra seclusion and social distancing, and the resort’s 700-ft. private beach offers a perfect spot for physically distanced lounging or a range of beach activities. The property’s Ocean Spa has also reopened with modified treatment protocols to ensure guest and staff safety.

The Ocho Rios resort currently has native endangered Hawksbill sea turtles building their nests on its beach during the peak summer hatching season, as part of the ongoing efforts of the Jamaica Inn Foundation to monitor and protect the species. Guests may have a chance to catch a glimpse (from a safe distance) of the baby turtles as they hatch and make their way back to the sea. The resort is holding an online turtle naming auction through Aug. 31, 2020, allowing the highest bidder to name the mother turtle who most recently laid her eggs on the beach and was tagged for future monitoring.

Guests may contribute to the turtle naming auction here, with all proceeds benefitting the Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project.
